I had this soup in one of the restaurants, that was the first time I saw orange floating in Tomato soup. The tangy-ness of the Orange and the flavor of Tomatoes blended so well. The soup was very tasty. So yesterday I had nothing but a carton of Tomato soup from ‘Trader Joe’s’ So thought I did spice this up a little  and here is the outcome.

Serving: 3

Time: 30 mins

1. 5 tomatoes ( you can use the carton of tomato soup too, then skip the part of making the soup itself)

2. 1 potato

3. cumin powder

4. 1 Tangerine (orange)

5. 4 Bay leaves

6. 1/2 tsp paprika

Tomato-Orange Soup

7. 1/2 tsp pepper

8. salt

9. cilantro (optional)

10. 2 slices white bread (optional)

11. oil to fry

For Tomato Soup:

Peel and Boil the tomatoes  in 1 cup water and chopped potatoes. Take out the potato and blend the tomatoes well. To skip all this you can use a carton of Tomato soup from any store.

Boil the soup, add Bay leaves, salt, pepper, paprika and cumin powder. After it starts boiling add chopped oranges ( slice the oranges into round wheel like and then cut them in to four pieces (quarters), add about 10 quarters).  Boil for another 5 minutes. and its done.

Cut the bread in to small pieces, deep fry these until they are brown.

Add them into the soup. Garnish with some cilantro and orange slice.
