paneer-matar-aloo

Cooking time: 40 mins (including prep)

Ingredients:

  1. Paneer (Indian Cheese)/ Tofu  (400 gms/ 0.8 lbs)
  2. Green Peas  (200 gms/ 0.4 lbs)
  3. Potatoes (2)
  4. Yellow Onions/ Shallots  (3)
  5. Garlic  ( 5 to 6 cloves)
  6. Ginger (2 inches)
  7. Tomatoes (3)
  8. Green Chilies (4) (Long finger/ Serrano)
  9. Coriander Leaves/ Cilantro ( 1 Bunch)
  10. Oil
  11. Cinnamon Stick (3 inches)
  12. Cloves (6 to 7)
  13. Peppercorns  (6 to 7)
  14. Garam Masala 1 tsp
  15. Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp
  16. Turmeric Powder  1 tsp

Directions:

  1. Cut Paneer into cubes and deep fry Paneer and keep aside. (drain the excess oil with kitchen tissue or strainer)
  2. Boil chopped potatoes and Green Peas in salt.
  3. Grind chopped Onions, Ginger, Garlic and Green Chilies and keep aside.
  4. Grind to make tomato puree and keep aside.
  5. Take oil in a pan add cinnamom, cloves and whole pepper.
  6. Add the Onions, Ginger, Garlic and Green Chilies mixture and saute
  7. Chop coriander leaves/ Cilantro and cook for 5 mins.
  8. Add Garam Masala, Red Chilli Power and turmeric Powder.
  9. Add tomato Puree. Cook for 10 mins
  10. Add paneer and boiled veggies ( Potato and Green Peas)
  11. Garnish with chopped Corinader/Cilantro
